Using Blogdesk

This is supposedly a test post, using Blogdesk.

Thanks to a friend’s recommendation, I have downloaded this free piece of code and am trying this out.

This can be excellent tool to give to all the writers contributing to The Lahore Tribune.

No ads anywhere, so this is not adware. Not uptil now at least.BlogDesk-button Surely doesn’t smell like a virus. And surely doesn’t look like spam. Thank God, I didn’t step on it, eh?

  1. Surely I wouldn’t recommend installing a virus to anyone!

BlogDesk saves a lot of time when I have to embed images into my posts, with its automatic thumbnail creation.
The other option is to upload images through the wordpress dashboard, and then link to them, and then check to see whether they appear alright, really a PITA.
I tried BlogJet about 4-5 years ago when I first attempted to blog, BD has most of the features BJ has (BJ is paid).
One thing that’s still an issue is tags, I use a tagging plugin, but if I edit a post in both BD and the Wordpress interface, sometimes the tag data disappears when saved from BD. If BD had builtin tagging support, it would be the ultimate editor.

  2. I never doubted your intentions, friend. :)
But now Wordpress 2.5.5 is coming out, and the usability design is done by the champions of standard based design ‘Happy Cog’. Wordpress will essentially become easier and more intuitive to use.
Something like Blogdesk, I think, is still a great tool and I am glad that you have pointed it out (especially given that it is free!) :)
