LAHORE: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has departed Lahore for Peshawar, where he is scheduled to hold important meetings concerning the law-and-order and security situation.

Naqvi to Discuss Security Situation in Peshawar
The visit comes amid heightened focus on security issues in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Earlier on Sunday, Naqvi said the province remained on the frontline in efforts against terrorism while reiterating support for security forces following a security operation in Dera Ismail Khan.
Naqvi has also recently spoken about proposed security-related commitments involving the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, including measures concerning policing, counterterrorism and implementation of the National Action Plan.
Further details of the Peshawar meetings are expected after the engagements conclude.
