LAHORE, October 9, 2026: Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem has taken notice of an incident in the Khalidabad area of Faisalabad, where two women lost their lives following a reported domestic dispute.
According to a Punjab Police statement, the incident involved a shooting during a family disagreement. The deceased women were identified as the suspect’s sister-in-law and niece, while his brother sustained injuries and was shifted to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for medical treatment.
IG Punjab Orders Immediate Arrest
Taking notice of the incident, IG Punjab Abdul Kareem sought a detailed report from the Regional Police Officer (RPO) Faisalabad and directed the City Police Officer (CPO) to ensure the immediate arrest of the suspect.
The police chief instructed the concerned officers to utilise all available resources to trace and apprehend the individual involved.
Forensic Teams Collect Evidence
Senior police officials and forensic teams reached the scene following the incident and collected evidence to assist the investigation.
The CPO Faisalabad confirmed that special police teams had been constituted to locate the suspect and expressed confidence that an arrest would be made soon.
Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the family dispute and the subsequent incident.
