Johar Town Police arrest main suspect Shoaib Hassan following an alleged office incident, while DIG Operations Faisal Kamran suspends police officials over delays in processing the complaint.

LAHORE, October 14, 2026: Johar Town Police have arrested a suspect accused of holding an office employee hostage, creating a disturbance and stealing an Apple MacBook and other belongings, according to a spokesperson for DIG Operations Lahore.

Suspect Arrested in Office Hostage and Theft Case

The arrested suspect, identified as Shoaib Hassan, allegedly invited three associates to his workplace on his final day of employment. Police said the group created a disturbance, confined an employee and forced office staff to open drawers before leaving with an Apple MacBook and other items.

Following the incident, the complainant approached Johar Town Police Station seeking legal action. However, the complaint was not assigned an E-Tag, resulting in delays in initiating proceedings.

The matter subsequently reached the office of DIG Operations Lahore Faisal Kamran, who took serious notice of the failure to register and process the complaint promptly.

SHO, Front Desk Personnel Suspended Over Negligence

DIG Faisal Kamran ordered the suspension of the Johar Town Station House Officer (SHO) and front desk personnel over negligence in handling the citizen’s complaint.

Police subsequently registered a case and arrested the main suspect, Shoaib Hassan. Raids are continuing to apprehend the three remaining suspects allegedly involved in the incident.

DIG Operations Faisal Kamran emphasised that responding promptly to citizens’ complaints and ensuring the arrest of suspects are fundamental police responsibilities.

He warned that accountability would extend beyond individuals accused of criminal activities to police personnel found negligent in performing their duties.

The DIG reiterated that unnecessary delays in providing justice to citizens would not be tolerated.

The allegations remain subject to investigation and judicial proceedings.
