PCB Shifts Peshawar, Abbottabad Matches Amid Political Tensions

President’s Trophy Grade-I fixtures originally scheduled in Peshawar and Abbottabad have been relocated to Lahore and Sheikhupura amid the political situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

LAHORE, October 12, 2026: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has relocated two sixth-round matches of the President’s Trophy Grade-I from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Punjab following recent political developments in the province.

The decision affects matches originally scheduled at Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar and Abbottabad Cricket Stadium.

The match between Ghani and Kingsmen Academy, previously scheduled in Peshawar, has been shifted to Rana Naved ul Hasan Cricket Academy in Sheikhupura.

Similarly, the fixture between Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), originally scheduled at Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, has been moved to Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) Ground in Lahore.

According to the PCB’s updated tournament schedule, both relocated matches are listed for October 14.

The remaining sixth-round fixtures are listed in Islamabad, with Pakistan Television facing Khan Research Laboratories and Markhor IT Solutions taking on State Bank of Pakistan.

The venue changes follow political developments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the federal government declared an emergency and imposed governor’s rule.

The PCB’s revised fixture list confirms the new venues for the affected matches, allowing the President’s Trophy Grade-I competition to continue outside the two original Khyber Pakhtunkhwa venues.
